Yes. Teach For America is a 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization and your donation is tax-deductible within the guidelines of U.S. law. To claim a donation as a deduction on your U.S. taxes, please keep your email donation receipt as your official record. We'll send it to you upon successful completion of your donation.

TFA Careers
You may still be a strong fit for the role even if you don't have every single one of the prior experiences we are looking for.
Read the job description carefully to see which experiences are required, strongly preferred, or have no indication of preference. If you truly don't have the qualifications that are required, you might reconsider your application. For all other qualifications, it is likely that we are flexible and will look at your application and experiences holistically.
After you are hired, you will need to provide documents that prove your identity and prove you are eligible to work legally in the United States. Acceptable documents include:
Driver’s license
Social security number
Employment Authorization Document (EAD)
Our Human Assets team will submit the information from your I-9 in an online system called E-Verify which compares your I-9 information to data from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and Social Security Administration's records to confirm employment eligibility.
Shortly after you are hired, you’ll need to complete a W-4 form to allow Teach For America to determine the amount of taxes to withhold from your paycheck.
All of the staff positions that are listed on our website are currently open. If you cannot locate a position on our website that you found advertised elsewhere, we are no longer accepting applications for that position. We encourage you to explore other open positions.
Yes, you can apply for more than one Pre-Service staff position. The required activities for each position vary; therefore, you will need to apply to each position separately.

If your Employment Authorization Document is set to expire during your tenure, Teach For America can recommend legal counsel to ensure you are able to apply for a renewal. It will be your responsibility to contact our Legal Affairs team and inform them of your timeline and provide updated proof of continuing work eligibility at the conclusion of your renewal. Staff members will be responsible for paying the cost of EAD applications and DACA renewals.
Salaries are based on experience, so we cannot share a range.
If you clicked on the “Forgot your password?” link and are trying to log in using the temporary password that was sent to your email address, make sure there are no spaces before or after your username (which is your email address) and password. Spaces count as a character, and the application system will not recognize your information if you include a space. Type the new password directly into the field rather than copying and pasting it into the field.

You only need to show that you are currently authorized to work. Teach For America does have an affirmative responsibility to make sure that we do not inadvertently employ ineligible individuals. Upon your hire, please reach out to LegalAffairs@teachforamerica.org so that they are aware of your expiration date; Legal Affairs will later reach out to you towards the end of your authorization period to ensure that your renewal is going smoothly. This will allow us to assist you if there are problems with your renewal and help you remain on staff.
A flexible location means that the person in this position might have the option of being based in one of our regional offices, the national office, or in a remote location. Flexible locations vary based on the specific role, and if a candidate moves forward, details will be discussed later on in the application process.

We’re so glad you’re interested in staff positions at Teach For America. Yes, you can apply for both an institute staff position and a full-time position with Teach For America. Separate applications are required, and applicants will be considered separately for both positions. Should you receive offers for both positions, the senior managing director of institute and the manager for the full-time role can address the feasibility of taking both positions.
We are committed to building a pathway to Teach For America for DACA recipients, and have successfully placed DACA recipients as corps members and as full-time Teach For America staff members. Ultimately, we will do our best to support you in navigating any challenges.
Applicants with DACA status must have a social security number and an Employment Authorization Document (EAD) at the time of their final interview. All Teach For America applicants, regardless of their citizenship status, must provide proof of employment eligibility documents at that time. A social security number is required to add you to our payroll.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to hold a position on Pre-Service staff if you are an incoming corps member. It is of critical importance that our incoming corps members focus on their professional development as educators and on student achievement during Pre-Service. Additionally, staff positions require work hours during the same hours that the incoming corps will be teaching and in sessions, so it is not logistically possible to do both at the same time.
